Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers?
There are numerous types of fillers on the market. The safest and most versatile are the hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar that is normally found in your skin. The HA gel fills in volume loss and wrinkles. There are very few side effects and minimal downtime associated with treatment.
Why are they used?
In the early stages of ageing, your expression lines can be effectively treated with Muscle Relaxants or Anti-wrinkle Injections. Overtime, as your face loses volume with ageing, if left untreated these wrinkles will deepen and the lines will become visible even when you are not smiling or frowning. It is at this stage that Dermal Fillers will yield the best result by ‘filling’ in these deep, depressed wrinkles in your skin.
What areas are commonly treated with Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers can be used to treat more permanent, deep or static lines.

This includes:

  • Deep Lines around the Lips or Mouth
  • Permanent Frown Lines
  • Nasolabial Lines (Smile Lines)

Dermal Fillers are also used for:

  • Lip Augmentation
  • Facial Volume Loss
  • Scar Revision Therapy
  • Cheek Contouring
  • Filling in Hollows (Temples & Tear Trough areas)
  • Brow Lift
How do Dermal Fillers work?
Dermal Fillers or Facial Fillers are injected into your dermal or middle layer of the skin. Working underneath your skin to fill wrinkles or scarring, Dermal Fillers restore volume to your face and smooth the appearance of deeper lines.
How much do Dermal Fillers cost?
There are a number of factors to take into consideration when determining cost. Such factors include the area or concern being treated, the type of filler needed and how much filler is required to achieve the desired result. Please see our Pricing page for further information.
What will I be like after the treatment?
There can occasionally be some swelling, bruising or tenderness in the area following treatment. This will usually last up to two to seven days. Application of ice immediately following the treatment will help these side effects resolve more quickly.
How long do Dermal Fillers Last?
The results usually last from 6 months and up to 2 years, depending on factors like the type of filler used and your body’s metabolic rate, skin structure, lifestyle and age.
